One of the most beautiful cars competing in the expert class in the Tulip Rallye, an Alfa Romeo 1900 Berlina.
This is a customized diecast miniature scale 1:24.
Colour is changed, bumpers are removed, wire wheels and spotlights were added. Also bucket seats, quick fasteners, towing eyes and livery are custom made.
Pontiac GTO form 1965, a true muscle car. Right? On Discovery channel I saw many programs like Overhauling, the Gas Monkeys and so on. Now I got my hands on an American car and sourced a supercharged motor. Time to play!
Found 4 chromed wheels that could work on the car.
After cutting a big hole in the bonnet the blown engine fits quite nicely.
The door gabs of the Maisto base model are wide. Very wide. Extremely wide. So made those smaller. The doors don't open any more but I don't fit myself anyway. Also made a bigger cover / sill between the wheels.
Then lowered the stance, added yellow bucket seats with safety belts, metal plating for the doors (the inner door lining), a roll cage, new exhaust, front spoiler, quick fastners and decals. The wheels at the rear got bigger and wider tires. Also the rim is now 5 mm wider (I used an other rim for that)
A couple of weeks ago, this big model came limping in. It is a 1:12 Corvette by Franklin Mint.
One wheels broke from the hub, the roof was disintegrating, trim came off, doors didn't fit any more. In other words, the Vette was in desperate need of restoration.
The Goodwood green and white striping look very classy together with the green interior, just like the real car (no pics yet).
@ mnmarcel, Franklin Mint made a few 1:12 models. And right now the are horribly expensive. This Corvette is made from fibre glass. Just like the real car. Lights work, the horn sounds and when you press the ignition key the engine revs as well.
The Triumph Spitfire used to be a small affordable and exotic looking sportscar. This mark IV looks very decent but a bit dreary. It is a diecast 1:18 from Sunstar.
A 'Cafe raceR' appearance is what I'm aiming for.
Front spoiler, removed wind screen, stream line head rest, metal plated interior, detailed engine bay, classic bucket seat, quick fuel filler, quick fastners, big bore exhaust...
